Kevin. 15. Welcome. I'm a proud Californian/Whovian/Sherlockian with an affinity for all things science-y and redolently aromatic. Also attracted to sounds and the making of sounds, in a generally musical sense. I appreciate cookies and boba milk tea. I also enjoy Homestuck.

Smoke Fairies - Gastown

The Smoke Fairies can be described as an indie alternative-folk-blues band. To me, they are among my favorite recent musical discoveries. The legendary Jack White knows the feeling well. “Gastown” is the A-side to the 2009 7” single produced and distributed by White’s Third Man Records. Recently, the Smoke Fairies, centered on the musical duo of British natives Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies, have released a full-length album, Through Low Light and Trees, which I also recommend. Of that album and their other material, you will hear such harmonious melodies and wonderful adaption of American influences. The Smokes Fairies will remind you of Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, one of their major influences. It seems to me that this group has a lot to offer, and is certainly on the right track.
